One public forum on the website Swinging Heaven has revealed a of places known for their local popularity as dogging hotspots. Dogging is a term used to describe when people have sex in public and sometimes in view of others. The locations include country parks, lay-bys, car parks and woodland and have all been named as popular dogging locations.
Doggers will, tragically, have had to halt their activities during the pandemic, however, with six people now allowed to meet outdoors they will be able to get going again as long as they stay at a social distance. Visitors to the forum say there is a secluded car park next to the old railway tracks just outside Maidwell which is "a good location".
The woodland opposite Northampton's most famous attractions has been described as the "ideal spot" for doggers to meet. This secluded car park to the west of Brixworth is another popular spot for Northamptonshire's doggers. Usually used to access the stunning countryside that surrounds the spot, the car park has apparently doubled up as a doggers spot at night. This reserve is one of the most beautiful spots in the county for a sunny walk on a summer's day. However, according to the forum, the woodlands provide a perfect environment for night time activities. This location, which is close to a built up area, utilising an area of woodland near to Finedon Park.
This secluded lay-by next to Syresham Pocket Park is another popular dogging location. According to the forum, the place is perfect for "wandering around" Apparently there are always couples parked up in this lay-by after dark, according to Swinging Heaven.
The entrance to the old Biffa tip near to junction 1 of the A14 is apparently popular amongst those looking for some late night fun. The track which he towards the Naseby Reservoir has seen a lot of action according to the forum. One writer said: "Been there on various nights and always had fun, it's best from Tuesdays to Fridays.
